How to build digital infrastructure for the manufacturing of quantum computers?
Take a look at the latest article in Thinker’s & Makers, where our CEO, Vice Rončević Bruun, as consultant for Akkodis describes his work in supporting Sparrow Quantum to take single-photon source chips from the lab to a production line.
“A system like this can’t exist without a digital layer.” – perhaps a key statement in the piece, as no two chips run under the same conditions, and each one has to be measured, calibrated and adapted to its own parameters. At that level of variation, the digital system is not the support infrastructure. It’s part of the product.
And this type of infrastructure and expertise is exactly what Denmark and Europe needs at the moment. Quantum Foundry Copenhagen has just announced a 5,300 m² fabrication facility opening in Copenhagen in 2027, offering wafer fabrication on commercial terms. Denmark is building the industrial layer underneath the science and Calibras and Akkodis stand ready to support their digitalization & IT layers.
