Computer Vision Dimensional Measurements

Calibrated computer vision 2D dimensional measurement system.

A dedicated thresholding, edge detection, and oriented bounding box based algorithm was developed and calibrated against tactile measurement results. The optical setup included an IDS industrial-grade camera, a dedicated ring light, and a polarization filter. Achievable resolution: 0.05 mm. Achievable accuracy: 0.25 mm.
